No matter what time of year you need a getaway, the four-seasons fun of Whitefish is waiting to give you all the rest and relaxation you desire. When planning the perfect Montana adventure, you’ll want to include plenty of Whitefish tours and experiences that give you the chance to get up close and in the thick of everything. Whitefish and the surrounding area offer plenty of activities, tours, and experiences to keep everyone in the group happy, entertained, and busy throughout the trip.

Glacier National Park

The UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s first International Peace Park, a designation earned by the collaborative agreement of the US and Canada in 1932, Glacier National Park is 27 miles from Whitefish. You’ll encounter beautiful scenery and landscape, wildlife, hiking trails, and more to keep you busy and exploring while you breathe fresh mountain air. You and your group will get the chance to see 25 named glaciers and over 1,000 species of plant life on this unforgettable outdoor experience.

Driving Tour

While you can strike out on your own for a beautiful driving sightseeing tour, you and everyone in your group will love the chance to sit back, relax, and let someone else do the driving while you keep your camera ready. Take a guided sightseeing and driving tour of Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley in the summer months. Listen to your knowledgeable guide as you enjoy a tour that begins in Whitefish and last around six hours. Enjoy the water, other beverages, and light snacks provided by some tour groups as you explore locations like Glacier National Park, Bison Range, and more. There will be plenty of opportunities for breathtaking photos along with all the information you could want about the area, its history, and other facts. Make sure to dress in layers and wear sturdy walking shoes to navigate the variety of terrain. Ask whether entry fees are included in the price of the trip.

Rock Climb Montana

Thrill seekers looking to conquer the mountains and cliffs of Whitefish and the surrounding area. Rock Climb Montana offers guided outdoor rock climbing adventures to travelers and residents alike. Their most popular climb, Stryker Rock, is near beautiful Stillwater River and has three dozen routes to take to scale. Other climbs include Kila Crag and its four-dozen bolted sport climbs, and Lake Koocanusa in the Stone Hill area of the state with over 500 routes to climb. There are routes for beginners as well as experts who want to sharpen their skills. There is no experience necessary, and all safety gear such as harnesses, rope, and helmets are provided. Masks and social distancing are required, and for longer climbs you’ll want to bring your own food and beverages. Currently, transportation to the climbing site is the responsibility of climbers.

Fishing

There are several charter companies that offer guided fishing tours of the waters in and around Whitefish. Fish the waters of Flathead Lake and Whitefish Lake for lake trout and Lake Superior whitefish. Half-day excursions last around five hours or book a full day of fun on the water for up to ten hours. Some companies offer to fillet, bag, and put your catch on ice while you continue to fish. Boats fit three to five people. Don’t forget to dress in layers and bring your sun gear, snacks, and water.

Big Sky Brews Cruise

Set out on a tasting tour of northwest Montana’s award-winning craft beer breweries and more. Visit breweries in Whitefish, Kalispell, Columbia Falls, and Flatheat Lake without having to designate a driver from the group or worry about reliable transportation between venues. Create a custom tour that includes wineries, hard cider, and distilleries. Tours are approximately four hours and include three stops with samples at each stop included. Bottled water and snacks are available between stops. Participants must be 21 years old or older with a valid ID.

Off-Road Whitefish Tours

Tours last anywhere from two hours to all day. See gorgeous waterfalls, breathtaking views, and hidden lakes as you explore the trails. Depending on the vehicle tour you take, there is space for two to four people. Full day tours include lunch. Riders must be at least 48” tall for RZRs and 55” for ATVs and 21 or older to drive.
